We found some of the weirdest traditions out there. Have you heard of these traditions? Breaking Wishbone- You take the clavicle bone of the turkey, which is also called a wishbone, and two people grab either side of it and pull it apart. Whoever gets the bigger half is the winner and they make a wish. Turkey Pardoning- Every year since 1989, when President George Bush formalized it, the President will pardon a turkey from thanksgiving. Turducken-Some families decide to do a turducken for thanksgiving instead of a turkey. A turducken is a chicken stuffed inside a duck and that duck stuffed inside a turkey. Turkey Trot- People will dress up as turkeys and run marathons for charities on thanksgiving. Turkey Bowling- This tradition started at a grocery store. Instead of using a bowling ball, they use a frozen turkey to knock down pins. Turkey Toss-The turkey toss began by high schoolers who dress up dead turkeys in baby onesies set them on fire and then toss them across a football field to see who can toss them the furthest.

Did you know that studies show 9 out of 10 meeting attendees daydream during a generic meeting setup? Half of employees waste an average of 30 minutes a day searching for a space to hold a meeting. Video Conferencing is becoming more and more popular because the benefits surpass those of generic conference calls.
Check out why you should integrate video conferencing into your business practice: Better meetings lead to better business relationships Standard conference calls are audio-only. Communication is enhanced when there is a need to hold eye contact, even “virtual” eye contact. Take the conference call to the next level by utilizing video and audio capabilities to achieve greater success with effective communication. Bring the team together Do you work with people that are scattered all over the country? Meeting as a team boosts communication and productivity. Reduced Travel Cut expenses by eliminating unnecessary travel for what could be accomplished in a video conference call. Improved Recruitment Are you hiring? Are you a recruiting agency? Many initial interviews occur over the phone and the interviewer is unable to asses the applicant as efficiently as you could through video conferencing. The interviewer gets a better chance to engage the applicant to see if they align with expectations. Don't forget that you have access to video conferencing here at AMG Corporate Offices! We have Dual HD Monitors paired with audio and visual equipment so that your next video conference is a success! Our equipment is able to hold a conference with up to 100 attendees including share your screen capabilities and record your meeting feature! Inquire with AMG Staff for more information! What is your profession and why did you choose it?
I am an Attorney. I chose this profession because it gives me a unique opportunity to help people and advocate for them when they are going through tough times. I started out my career working for the State as an Assistant Prosecutor. Now, I primarily do criminal defense and traffic law. How long have you owned your own business? I started B. Block Law LLC four years ago at the end of 2015. Two former clients reached out to me for help on the same day, and I saw it as God sending me a sign to open my own business. What inspired you to own your own business? A few other people that graduated school a year before me started their own firms, and they helped inspire me to think that I could do it too. My Marketing background in college also helped prepare me. What might someone be surprised to know about you? In college, I was the Editor-In-Chief for our newspaper The Omnibus at Southwest Baptist University. Do you have a hobby, play a sport, or have any special interests? I have a wonderful wife, Adria. I ran a pizza blog called stlpizzaguy.com that got more than 30,000 views. So I love eating pizza 3-4 times a month. I have recently started playing the piano again. What job would you be terrible at? I don’t think there’s many jobs that I would be bad at. I would definitely be a bad ballet dancer though. Who has impressed you most with what they’ve accomplished? My parents are both awesome people, Tom and Donna Block. They have been there for me in good and bad times. I look up to them because they are genuine, every-day people who raised three great children. Where is the most interesting place you have visited? Europe. When I was a senior in high school I went to Rome, Florence and Paris for a whirlwind week of spring break. I liked seeing the history there. Do you have any advice based on your area of expertise? First, in the area of DWI law. Many people hear the advice never to blow into a breathalyzer machine. But depending on the part of the state you are in, the circumstance of your case, and changes in Missouri Law, this could be bad advice and do more harm to you for refusing the test. Always consult with a professional. My second piece of advice, is don’t let Google take the place of a lawyer for real legal advice. There’s so much information out there, and it can be confusing. If you could work anywhere in the world, where would you choose? San Diego California. I think the weather is great there year-round but not much work would get done. How has working in a shared work space influenced your business? It’s nice to see people from different careers sharing space because we are not competitors or coworkers and we have a friendly environment. Also working in a shared space gives a great impression to clients with the beautiful conference room and other amenities that I would not be able to afford on my own. What is your favorite restaurant from the St. Louis area? Charlie Gittos. I love Italian food and pizza. What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives? Do something kind for someone who you KNOW has no ability to pay you back or return the favor. Who’s your go to band or artist when you can’t decide on something to listen to? Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, or Queen. Springsteen and Dylan are both great songwriters. Queen is an awesome band and I’ve started listening to them more after Bohemian Rhapsody the movie. Colliers International, a global leader in real estate services and investment management, produced a survey about the U.S. Workplace in 2019. The ‘flexible workspace’ is proving to be a powerful tool for businesses, no matter how big or small. The amenities they provide help small businesses and start-up propel their business into new heights! Here are some of the biggest takeaways from the survey: • Breaking Traditions – Colliers International Reported that in 2010, there were less than 300 flexible workspaces. Today, there are more than 5,000 locations across the country! Traditional office spaces are changing their structures to accommodate businesses who want something similar to the flexible workspace. • Flexible for Every Customer – A big draw to the flexible workspace is in the name – it is flexible! It can be used as a quick spot for a short period for larger corporations, or be a full-time area with the utilization of all of the support for a small business. It gives every business the opportunity to work in a creative environment to grow their business quantitatively and qualitatively. • Space As a Service – According to Colliers, a reason for the growth in the flexible workspace is not viewing space as a commodity, but as a service. Property owners are using customer centricity to attract businesses to use their quality services in their office space. • The New Workforce – As a new generation of people come of age and enter the workforce, businesses and employers need to shift the culture and environment to attract these new minds. A big way to attract them is to place them in a flexible workplace, where this new young talent can work and grow the best. At AMG Corporate Offices and Creve Coeur Workspace, we pride ourselves in offering a flexible workspace to help every business prosper. Whether you are using our virtual services, or work here every day, we provide tools that you can utilize to keep your business running smoothly. If you need a last-minute conference room or administrative assistance, we are here to assist you!
