AMG Corporate Offices is excited to introduce the Vice President of Development and Board Member of FOCUS Marines Foundation: Norm Harriman.

What is your profession and why did you choose it?

Vice President of Development and Board Member - FOCUS Marines Foundation - It's about Marines helping Marines and other veterans.  When I heard about FMF, I was all in.

How long have I been involved with FOCUS Marines?

I have been involved with the FMF since 2012.

What inspired you to be involved with FOCUS Marines Foundation?

The phrase "once a Marine, always a Marine", is not only our motto, it is something that is tattooed into every Marines soul so being able to give back to combat veterans who have sacrificed so much was little more than adhering to our motto.

What might someone be surprised to know about you?

I come from a family of Marines.  Dad, brother, son, and me all went through boot camp at MCRD San Diego.

Hobby, sports, special interest.

Hobby - collecting challenge coins.  Too old to play active sports but enjoy watching most of them.  Interests include golf, traveling and taking care of two rescue dogs which will lose some of my attention as I am a new, first time Grand Pa.

What job would you be terrible at?

Artist.  I can barely draw my name.

Who has impressed you most with what they have accomplished?

The men and women who attend the FOCUS program and willing to reverse the downward spiral they find themselves while trying to transition from the battlefield to life as a civilian.

Where is the most interesting place you have visited?

Navajo, Hopi, and Apache tribal lands in Eastern and Northern Arizona

Do you have any advice based on your expertise?

We all can do our part in helping today'a veteran.  There are vasts amounts of information on the internet on what to do and how to help.  Whether it is someones neighbor, relative, or overhearing a conversation in a restaurant.  If you hear of a veteran that is struggling, have a plan of action.  It literally could save a life.

If you could work anyplace in the world, where would you choose?

I already have.  Right here.

How has working in a shared workplace helped your business?

I have a saying,  "your net-work is your net-worth".  AMG has offered all of us at FOCUS Marines Foundation the opportunity to work and meet with others in a professional, friendly atmosphere.  We are proud to showcase our office and all it offers.

What is your favorite restaurant in the St. Louis area?

Satchmo's Bar and Grill in Chesterfield.  Great food and friendly atmosphere plus it reminds me of Cheers when I walk in because they all yell, "Norm"!  Susie,s the best day time bartender around.  Stop in and tell her Norm sent you.
